We are delighted to be able to offer academic scholarships for the upcoming school terms of the year applied. Scholarship awards are available for $1,000 per academic year ($500 per semester) to students enrolled in a college, university, community/junior college or technical school. To be eligible for scholarship consideration, applicant must be a graduating high school senior or currently enrolled college student whose parent or legal guardian is a current member of the Fort Bend County Deputy Sheriff’s Association. Employees who are current members of FBCDSA are also eligible to apply for this scholarship. Scholarships are available to students enrolled in any college, university or technical school that is accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S Department of Education (US Dept of Education maintains a searchable database: http://ope.ed.gov/accreditation/Search.aspx).

Applicants must be a graduating high school senior and must have at least a 2.5/4.0 unweighted grade point average or equivalent “passing” grade to be eligible to apply for a scholarship. An incomplete or failing grade in any class may cause a suspension of funding for the next term. An official high school/college transcript is required with this application. Currently enrolled college students must also follow the above requirements. Completed applications must be emailed by Midnight March 30, 2025. Applications delivered in person will not be accepted. A résumé will not be accepted in lieu of an application. Additional pages may be attached to the application, if needed, to comprehensively answer any questions on the application. An official high school or college transcript is required with this application as well as two letters of recommendation, a headshot and responses to short answer questions are required and must be attached to the application. Incomplete applications will not be considered for a scholarship. Scholarship applications will be evaluated by the review panel, and if necessary, interviews will be conducted in June.
